1960 Happy Birthday Lionel Cartwright born on this day in Gallipolis, Ohio. Lionel has four Top 10 singles from 1989-1991, the biggest coming with “Leap Of Faith”

1963 Happy Birthday Travis Tritt born on this day in Marietta, Georgia. His southern rock, soul and country styleproduces such hits as “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive,“Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” and “T-R-O-U-B-L-E”

1980 The Oak Ridge Boys reach the top of the Billboard country singles chart with  “Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight”

1982 Willie Nelson’s “Always On My Mind” is released to country radio. It spent 21 weeks on the country charts and spent two weeks at #1 in may of 1982.

1986 The album “Highwayman” is certified gold for Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson.

1991 Mark Chesnutt is at #1  on the Billboard country singles chart for the first time with “Brother Jukebox”
