Celebrity Birthdays

America Ferrera is 34.  Amy on “Superstore” and Betty Suarez on “Ugly Betty”.  Kourtney Kardashian is 39.  Conan O’Brien is 55.  Comedian Jeff Dunham is 56.  His ventriloquist characters include Achmed the dead terrorist, and Jose the jalapeno on a stick.  Rick Moranis is 65.  “Ghostbusters”“Spaceballs”“Honey I Shrunk the Kids”

It Happened On This Day In Country Music History

1970 Johnny Cash was at #1 on the Country album chart with Cash, his 33rd album release. The album featured “If I Were a Carpenter”, the famous duet with his wife, June Carter Cash, which earned the couple a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1971.

1975 Olivia Newton-John was at #1 on the US Country album chart with Have You Never Been Mellow.  The title track was also a US #1 single.

2010 At the 45th Academy of Country Music Awards Lady Antebellum won in three categories, Top Vocal Group, Single Record and Song of the Year, for “Need You Now”. Carrie Underwood became the first woman in history to win the Entertainer of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards twice. Underwood previously won the award at the 2009 ceremony.

Country Music Fun Fact

Marty Stuart has a vast collection of country music memorabilia, which is one of the biggest in country music. It has been featured at the Tennessee State Museum, and The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and pieces are regularly loaned to the Country Music Hall of Fame for exhibits.
