It was on this day in 1987 Mikhail Gorbachev arrives for his summit with President Ronald Reagan.  A meeting that opened up relationship with The Soviet Union.  And NBA Boston Celtic star Larry Bird turns 61 today.

1948 Happy Birthday Gary Morris  born on this day in Fort Worth, Texas. Known for his hits  “The Wind Beneath My Wings” (watch music video) 

1983 Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton earn a platinum single for “Islands In The Stream”(watch music video)

1991 Reba McEntire’s “For My Broken Heart” (watch music video) is #1 on the Billboard country singles charts.

1998 BNA releases Kenny Chesney’s “How Forever Feels”(watch music video)to Country Radio.   It was the first single released from his album, Everywhere We Go. The song reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles charts.
