This Day in Country Music History

1963 Happy Birthday Ty England  born on this day in Oklahoma City. A guitarist with Garth Brooks during the superstar’s peak years, England leaves the band in 1994 to pursue a solo career.

1967 Happy Birthday Gary Herzberg  born on this day in Montebello, California. Better known as Gary Allan, known for many hits including        “Smoke Rings In The Dark,”(Watch Music Video) “Nothing On But The Radio,”(Watch Music Video) “Watching Airplanes”(Watch Music Video) and “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)”(Watch Music Video)

Gary Allan has two shows at in January at the Peppermill Concert Hall in Wendover Nevada (Link here for tickets)

 

1978 The Charlie Daniels Band records “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”(Watch Music Video) at Nashville’s Woodland Sound Studios.

1992 George Strait tops the Billboard country singles chart with“I Cross My Heart,(Watch Music Video)” from the “Pure Country” soundtrack.
