This Day In Country Music History 11/16/17

 

1991  Garth Brooks’  “Shameless” rises to #1 on the Billboard country charts.  Garth was not the first to record shameless.  Billy Joel recorded it several years earlier.

 

 

 

1994 More Garth news ‘ album “Ropin’ The Wind” is certified platinum x 10 with 10 million copies being shipped.  Garth is the first country artist to reach that plateau with two different releases.  Tracks include Rodeo, Shameless, What She Doing Now, Papa Loved Mama, and The River.

 

 

2012 Lee Brice’s “I Drive Your Truck” is released to radio.  The song gained sufficient airplay to debut on the Country Airplay for chart dated February 23, 2013, and eventually reaching No. 1 on this chart on April 20, 2013, making it his third consecutive No. 1 behind “Hard To Love and Parking Lot Party”
