1970 Tom T. Hall is at #1 on the Billboard country charts for the first time with “A Week In A Country Jail”

1987  Happy Birthday Tyler Hubbard  born on this day in Snellville, Georgia. He becomes one-half of Florida Georgia Line.  FGL wins a series of Vocal Duo of the Year awards with hits such as  “Cruise,” “Dirt,”  and “This Is How We Roll,” among others.

1993 Garth Brooks sings the national anthem at Super Bowl XXVII at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The Dallas Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills, 52-17

1997 Tim McGraw receives a quintuple-platinum (five million) album from the Recording Industry Association of America for “Not A Moment Too Soon”
